Mr & Mrs Potato Head’s wedding by Leeds wedding photographer Chris Thornton

My son (aged 3) knows I take pictures at weddings. He doesn’t really understand the concept of it and isn’t the least bit interested in the photos. Who would be aged 3?

So I decided to shoot a wedding just for him.

And here it is. The wedding of Mr and Mrs Potato Head!….

Decorations made by my mum :)

You always get one. At every wedding. Wedding photographers can vouch for this. Uncle Spud!

It came as a big shock when Mr Potato found out what was on the menu for the wedding breakfast!!!

I can safely say that these are the only wedding rings that I have eaten after taking photos of them! (Sorry Mr & Mrs P)

We had a little rain after the wedding breakfast but it did nothing to dampen the spirits of the newly weds!

We even got a little sunset after the rains and enjoyed some romantic indoor shots too.

Chris this is brilliantly bonkers. Loved that you’ve recreated some of your signature shots (tea lights and lamps). Shoes on windowsill actually made me lol, but overwhelmingly I think you have too much time on your hands in the quiet season ;)
Well done Mrs Thornton on the props

(Why no all action flash curtain dancing shots?)

Thanks very much Kate. I could have gone on shooting this for ages. I fancied some dancing shots but ran out of time. I would love to have them all drunk at the night do.

When the chips are down and you don’t want to waffle on it’s time to mash up some old wedding poses and celebrate the union of the Mr and Mrs Potato Head. Inspired lunacy my good man

  8. Love it!! Must remember to show my 3 year old tomorrow, I’m sure she’ll giggle! :)

Not what I was expecting to find on petapixel in the morning. Haha. An original idea and executed perfectly. You, sir, have made my day :D I smiled throughout and I love all the details from the crouton rings right down to the guest list that included woody, etc and even alien 1,2 and 3. I see what you did there ;) thanks again for making me smile. Awesome photographs, btw!

Rather touching. Your son will really appreciate this, some years afterwards. Maybe when he tries to explain what he does to his kids.
